Your recordings

Voxoom lets you record or import audio and keep it in your Library on your iPhone. Your original recording stays on the device when you choose to create a transcript or summary.

Microphone permission allows recording. It does not, by itself, authorize uploading your audio for transcription. You choose whether to process the full recording or a selected range and confirm before processing starts.

Audio processing

When you choose Agree & transcribe, the selected audio or full recording is uploaded to private Google Cloud Storage. AssemblyAI processes that copy to generate an English transcript. Google Vertex AI processes the transcript to generate a summary. Your original recording stays on this iPhone. You can cancel before agreeing without creating a processing job.

Saved recordings and downloaded results are available locally. The current development test does not provide cloud backup or cross-device synchronization. Keep an exported copy of recordings you want to preserve.

Storage and deletion

Processing audio is used only while transcription is in progress. After the transcript has been safely saved, or a failure has been confirmed, we start deleting the audio from our servers immediately. New processing audio is stored without soft-delete recovery copies or object versions. Failed deletion is retried until confirmed.

Cloud transcripts, summaries and model request/response content are retained in active storage for 30 days, then scheduled for deletion. The content bucket retains deleted transcript, summary and model request/response files for a further 7 days under its soft-delete policy. Invocation metrics in the database are retained for 90 days. Request and response records remove credentials and signed audio URLs.

Audio already deleted under the former policy keeps its original Cloud Storage recovery period. The new policy does not shorten that existing period.

AssemblyAI transcript-copy deletion is requested after the ASR result is stored or a failure is confirmed. An unknown in-flight submission is reconciled before deletion.

Account and feedback

In the current development test, a guest or signed-in session associates processing jobs, tags, and remaining transcription time with your account.

When you send feedback in the app, the submitted message, an optional reply email, your platform, and app version are stored for review. The app uses its existing verified session to associate feedback with your user record. Audio, transcripts, attachments, and operation history are not attached to the feedback.

Feedback is submitted only when you choose Send or Retry. An unsent draft stays in the current app session and is cleared after a successful submission or an account change. Sending feedback does not automatically send an email notification.

Your choices

You can review your audio and selected range before agreeing to transcription. Opening a policy page and returning to the app does not authorize an upload or use transcription minutes.

Formal instructions for consent withdrawal, data access, and data deletion requests are pending publication. During private development testing, contact the person coordinating your test about inspection or removal of test data. The in-app feedback form is not a substitute for the formal data-request channel that remains to be confirmed.
